Gig Harbor, WA, January 11, 2011— The Harbor History Museum will be hosting a monthly activity titled “Tea and Tour.” It will be a half-hour, in-depth discussion on one particular area of the gallery, or even as specific as one item, followed by tea, coffee and cookies.
“The Tea and Tour really delves deeper than our exhibits ever could. It’s more about the details; the who’s and what’s about an object or area,” said Victoria Blackwell, Curator.
The Tea and Tour will take place on the third Thursday of each month (January 20, February 17), from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. The activity is free for members, and admission plus $1.00 for non-members.
The Gig Harbor Peninsula Historical Society dba Harbor History Museum was founded in 1963, and opened a museum in 1973. The mission of the Harbor History Museum is to create opportunities to experience the heritage of the greater Gig Harbor communities. We do this by collecting, preserving, and sharing this area’s history. The museum is open Tuesday – Sunday, 10am – 5pm, except major holidays.
